Study reveals that students who are distracted by screens have worse academic performances
Portuguese students aged 15 spend an average of one hour and 24 minutes a day in school using them to learn. For leisure, they spend an additional 1.2 hours in front of the screens. The study shows that students who are distracted by the screens have worse academic performances when compared to colleagues who guarantee not to be distracted.
These are some of the conclusions of the new edition of the largest international study on education, the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA), which involved more than 760,000 students from 91 countries and economies.
Almost half of Portuguese students aged 15 use Artificial Intelligence to study and do jobs and there are more and more reports of students distracted by screens during classes.
