Telangana: Nampally Court Adjourns Sandhya Theatre Stampede Case Hearing to July 6
The court reset the hearing after several accused failed to appear, while Allu Arjun joined virtually after seeking permission for a film shoot.
On Monday, the Nampally Criminal Court in Hyderabad adjourned the Sandhya Theatre stampede case hearing to July 6, 2026, after several accused failed to appear in person.
The legal proceedings stem from a December 2024 stampede at Sandhya Theatre during a screening of Pushpa 2: The Rule, which resulted in one woman's death and multiple injuries.
Actor Allu Arjun, listed as accused number 11, attended the hearing virtually after the magistrate granted permission due to his ongoing film shoot in Mumbai.
While Arjun appeared virtually, two representatives of the theatre management were absent from the proceedings, prompting the court to direct the defence to submit an absence memo.
All 23 accused must appear in person on July 6, 2026, when the court will register the case at the Sessions Court for the next stage of proceedings.
