Recall: Crème Brûlée Sold at ALDI May Contain Glass Shards
The FDA classified the recall as Class II, meaning exposure may cause temporary health effects, after Lactalis pulled 2,869 cases from seven states.
Aldi recalled its Specially Selected creme brulee desserts across seven states due to potential glass contamination, following an action initiated by manufacturer Lactalis Canada on April 14.
The FDA categorized the recall as Class II on April 28, indicating exposure to the product may cause temporary or reversible health consequences rather than serious harm.
Impacted products include 2,869 cases sold at Aldi locations in Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, New York, and Virginia, packaged in glass jars containing "foreign objects, specifically glass."
Aldi has pulled the affected items from store shelves, with the desserts now marked as "out of stock" on the company's website following the recall announcement.
Consumers should verify the Best Before date of 5/9/2026 and barcode 4099100342826 on packaging; however, Aldi and Lactalis have not provided refund details for customers who purchased the product.
