Alcohol sales continue to drop as younger generation stays away
PRINCE GEORGE – A Statistics Canada report says alcohol sales in the 2024-25 fiscal year saw the biggest decline in sales since it began tracking this stats 20 years ago. “Overall, liquor authorities and other retail outlets sold $25.8 billion worth of alcoholic beverages in the fiscal year ending March 31, 2025, down 1.6% from fiscal year 2023/2024,” the report said. “On a volume basis, sales of alcohol declined by 3.0% to 2,898 million litres …
