Alberta Closing Safe Consumption Sites in Calgary and Lethbridge by End of June

Alberta will close supervised drug consumption sites in Calgary and Lethbridge on June 30. The Calgary Safeworks site at the Sheldon M. Chumir Centre the province's first-ever consumption site, open since 2017 and Lethbridge's mobile unit will be replaced with expanded treatment beds, addiction clinics, and 24-hour outreach teams.
