"A.J. Brown Knows Where His Future Is Headed": NFL Insider Adam Schefter Drops Bombshell on Eagles WR's Status Amid Trade Talks
Adam Schefter said a trade could bring Brown to New England after June 1, with Philadelphia seeking a future first-round pick.
On Monday, Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown addressed youth camp attendees in Allentown, Penn., amid persistent trade rumors linking him to the New England Patriots.
The potential deal remains pending until the NFL calendar reaches June 1, when the Eagles can split Brown's $40 million salary cap charge over two seasons.
ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter stated the transaction will likely involve a 2028 first-round draft pick, saying "I still think all these elements are in place."
Eagles general manager Howie Roseman maintained during April's draft that "A.J. is a member of the Eagles," denying any finalized trade at that time.
Brown, who turns 29 in June, ranks fifth among Eagles wide receivers with 5,034 career receiving yards and has eclipsed 1,000 yards in each of his four Philadelphia seasons.
