Police in Mwanza have apprehended a 22-year-old man, Mayamiko Singaniza, on allegations of defilement and for allegedly holding a 17-year-old girl captive for four days. According to Mwanza Police spokesperson Hope Kasakula, the suspect had been involved in a relationship with the minor a union that the girl’s father had explicitly forbidden.
