Air Force Beats Navy 14-9 to Get Jump on Commander-in-Chief's Trophy Competition

On Saturday, Air Force defeated Navy 14-9 in the opening game of the Commander-in-Chief's Trophy competition, with Liam Szarka scoring two rushing touchdowns for the Falcons.
This victory places the Falcons one step closer to reclaiming the Commander-in-Chief's Trophy for the first time since 2022, marking their first win over the Midshipmen since 2023.
Szarka tallied 163 total yards while Air Force's defense held Navy to 1-of-11 on third-down attempts; Alexander Perez and Max Mustell made crucial stops late in the game.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth attended the game and spoke to Air Force cadets beforehand; Navy scored via a Nolan Bartley field goal and a 68-yard pass to Truman Brasfield.
Air Force travels to West Point to face Army on Nov. 7 aiming to clinch the trophy, while Navy hosts Tulsa next Saturday before concluding against Army on Dec. 12 in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
