- Following reports that festivals coincide with October 3, AIMPLB held an emergency meeting of office-bearers under president Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani, prompting the bandh's postponement.
- Originally, the bandh was planned from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., with exemptions for hospitals and pharmacies, and shops, offices, and commercial establishments asked to close on Friday.
- AIMPLB leaders said the campaign will continue and new dates will follow soon, with Dr S.Q.R. Ilyas stating `The Bharat Bandh stands postponed, but InshaAllah, new dates will be announced shortly.`
- Shahabuddin Razvi publicly urged non-participation, saying `I request all Muslims not to take part in the AIMPLB’s programme`, warning politicisation and provocative `I Love Muhammad` posters could incite unrest.
