The committee is chaired by Kris Gopalakrishnan, co-founder of Infosys and chairman of Axilor Ventures, and co-chaired by N. Manjula, secretary, Department of Electronics, IT, Biotechnology and Science & Technology.
The Karnataka government has given utmost importance to the education sector. With a budget of ₹55,000 crore, and bank assistance of Rs. 2,500 crore, it has started 807 Karnataka Public Schools. It has given priority to higher education, skill development and job creation, and is planning to set up a separate Artificial Intelligence (AI) University in Bengaluru.
