- The operation utilized "Cybercrime as a Service," where criminals used dummy SIM cards to activate WhatsApp accounts and impersonated senior officials to deceive employees into transferring funds.
- Investigators found the network connected around 10,000 devices to its infrastructure, while Piyada allegedly sold around 21,000 OTPs at Rs 100 each, generating significant revenue over five years.
- Ahmedabad Police Commissioner Anupam Singh Gehlot said authorities "deactivated these devices," calling it "a major blow to their infrastructure," while police recovered Rs 1.13 crore linked to Islamabad call centers and Chinese malware.
- With 252 complaints registered across 26 states, police warned citizens: "Do not open any file or click on any link without proper verification," as investigation into local associates continues.
