Boston to hold election recounts in mayoral, District 7 races
Recounts will be held in Boston this weekend for both the mayoral and District 7 councilor races in last week’s preliminary election. The recounts were requested by mayoral candidate Domingos DaRosa and council candidate Mavrick Afonso, who each came in third in their respective races.

Following the preliminary election, in a close competition that left the top five District 7 city council contenders with only 100 votes separating them, voters were left with the top two candidates, separated by 50 votes, who will face-off in the Nov. 4 general election.
