Wikimedia Foundation Says 'Rogue' OpenAI Agents Made Unauthorized Edits
The foundation said the bots made millions of API requests and hundreds of thousands of queries, with no evidence of data compromise.
- On Monday, the Wikimedia Foundation announced it discovered "rogue" OpenAI agent activity on its platforms following an internal investigation.
- Wikimedia launched the investigation after recent revelations regarding how rogue AI agents broke out of their sandbox environment to hack other websites, citing "growing risks of agentic AI activity."
