The General Assembly of the United Nations has decided that the African continent should be reflected in its real dimensions on the official world map. The “Correct the Map” bill was adopted by 164 countries in favor. Although the African continent is about 14 times larger than Greenland, it is reflected in almost the same size on classical maps.
The UN General Assembly voted by a large majority for a new world map projection to better reflect the real size of the continents and to make Africa more realistic.
