PLÖTZKAU – In Sunday's parliamentary elections in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt, the AfD achieved a historic result. Overall, it won 43.8 percent of the vote, but in some areas its support was significantly higher. In the municipality of Plötzkau, as many as 62.8 percent of voters voted for it.
There are also harsh electoral defeats in which no party is represented on the ballot paper. Saxony-Anhalt has just produced one.
