Acceptance of LGBTQIA+ people stalls or declines in the Netherlands, monitor finds
The acceptance of homosexual and lesbian people has not risen in the last two years, while the acceptance of transgender, non-binary, and intersex people has dropped slightly, according to the LGBTQIA+ monitor by Movisie. The knowledge conducts a biannual study, along with Ipsos I&O and advisory bureau Panteia, into the living situation of the LGBTQIA+ community and the way they are thought of in the Netherlands.
The number of Dutch people who think positively about LGBTI+ people is no longer increasing. This is evident from the LGBTIQA+ monitor published on Tuesday by Movisie, Ipsos I&O, and Panteia, commissioned by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science. The youngest respondents, 18- to 30-year-olds, think most positively about homosexuality.
Broadly speaking, the views of adult Dutch people on, for example, homosexuality remain unchanged compared to two years ago.
