Aden Holloway has a scholarship waiting at Alabama depending on outcome of marijuana case, Oats says
Coach Nate Oats said Alabama will keep a scholarship open for Aden Holloway while his marijuana case moves through court.
On Wednesday, Alabama coach Nate Oats confirmed the program has a scholarship waiting for suspended guard Aden Holloway, pending the outcome of his ongoing marijuana case.
Holloway was arrested March 16 and later indicted on four charges, including marijuana possession and drug paraphernalia use, resulting in his indefinite suspension before the NCAA Tournament.
While attending a Birmingham PGA Tour Champions event, Oats stated he must let the legal process play out before determining if Holloway can return to the Crimson Tide.
Holloway waived his June 16 arraignment, with attorney Jason Neff planning to file a formal not guilty plea on his behalf, keeping a potential return open.
The program faces further roster uncertainty as rising sophomore Amari Allen explores the NBA draft, while redshirt freshman Collins Onyejiaka remains sidelined by a heart condition.
