Adani Group Sets Rs 1 Lakh Crore Bengal Investment Target, Unveils Rs 4,000 Crore Hospital
- Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani laid the foundation stone for the 2,000-bed super-speciality hospital 'Adani Arogya Mandir' in Kolkata's New Town area alongside West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari.
- Earlier, Adani visited Kalighat and prayed to Mother Kali for 'Shakti' before announcing his group will invest Rs 1 lakh crore in West Bengal by 2035 across ports, logistics, and power sectors.
- The group will spend Rs 4,000 crore on the facility, creating approximately 10,000 jobs, with 50 per cent of beds reserved for economically weaker sections—a provision the Chief Minister noted is rare in the country.
- Accompanied by his wife Priti Adani and son Karan Adani, the industrialist met with the Chief Minister to discuss investment priorities, expressing confidence that Bengal will create new development possibilities under his leadership.
- Adani said he sought the 'will power' to dream big and the 'action power' to fulfill those dreams, stating the hospital will become an institution of health, hope, and human dignity for generations.
