In the spring, the Finnish Traffic Safety Administration measured the speeds of motorists on pedestrian crossings near schools in six cities. More than a fifth were over ten kilometers per hour.
On the way to the school building and back home they have to cross full roads regularly. Therefore, the ADAC Hessen-Thuringia in Frankfurt, Kassel and Hanau have checked 146 zebra strips in the vicinity of primary schools more closely. The good news: 68 percent of the crossing points are well and safely laid out. Particularly positive are lighting and signage, here only in a few cases deficits were noted.
At the start of school, police, school pilots and ADAC want to ensure safe school paths. This is planned for a whole week.
WELS. Concerns are now being reviewed by the Order Guard and the Magistrate.
