French high school students are taking their school protests one step further by entering “act three.” Tens of thousands of students—joined by unions and political parties—are expected on the streets of Paris alone.
The high school students, supported this Tuesday by student organisations and trade unions, are returning to the streets. Tens of thousands of people are expected in some 30 cities. In Paris, the rally is planned on the Place de la République from 2 p.m. A national education union (FSU, CGT, FO, CFDT, Unsa, Sud and Solidaires) calls to go down the street and join the high school students.
For this "Act III" of a movement that started in mid-September in the Paris region before spreading, the high school students received the support of an inter-union of National Education who called to go down to the street alongside them, in Paris, Lyon, Marseille and about thirty other cities.
