- Singh was rushed to hospital and declared dead, while Shinde was charged under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and remanded to police custody for five days.
- Singh's family connections highlight that Anil Kumar Singh, father of the victim and member of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh's security detail, was in Delhi for Republic Day preparations when informed; police said Singh had planned to celebrate his wife's birthday with dinner shortly before the attack.
