Justice Obiora Egwuatu ordered publication of the seizure notice within 7 days, giving claimants 14 days to contest forfeiture of the assets.

- Sylva, a former Governor of Bayelsa State, was named as a conspirator in an alleged coup against President Bola Tinubu last year. Although not charged as a defendant, prosecutors allege he financed the plot and remains on the run.
- The forfeited assets include terraces in Dakibiyu, various duplexes, and office complexes across Abuja, including one occupied by the National Information Technology Development Agency . The EFCC filed under the Advanced Fee Fraud and Other Related Offences Act.
- Justice Egwuatu ordered the EFCC to publish notice in two national newspapers within 7 days. Interested parties must appear before the court within 14 days to show cause why the interim order should not become final forfeiture.
- The court adjourned the matter until May 25 for a compliance report on publications. Sylva previously denied involvement in the alleged coup, stating he was abroad for a medical check-up when security operatives raided his house.
