The opposition parties are pushing for a special law on "absentee voting" to establish a domestic transfer voting mechanism. Although the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has raised concerns about potential interference from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in the election, the Legislative Yuan, with its majority of KMT and TPP legislators, voted on the 12th to move the bill directly to its second reading and submit it for negotiation.
