The independence movements in Catalonia clashed with each other. 'Mossos d'Esquadra' (Police of Catalonia) stopped on September 10 a mobilization called by leftist organizations related to the CUP, the Candidacy of Popular Unity, against an act of Aliança Catalana, right-wing independentist formation. Despite the fact that both sectors are in favour of Catalonia's independence, they differ on essential issues such as identity and migration.
Under the slogan "They will not pass," protesters chanted slogans such as "Fascist Out of Our Neighborhoods" and "Vox and Aliança, the same farce," as well as chants alluding to the unity of the working class.
