Aaron Judge activated from 60-day injured list by New York Yankees
The New York Yankees activated Aaron Judge from the 60-day injured list on Monday, bringing back the three-time MVP to strengthen their American League wild card position.
Judge has been sidelined since May 31 with a broken rib. His return comes as the Yankees prepare to open a three-game home series against the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday night.
In a corresponding roster move, the organization designated 25-year-old pitcher Chase Hampton for assignment. Hampton is now placed on waivers, allowing other clubs to claim him from New York.
Hampton appeared in 17 games this season split between Single-A Tampa, High-A Hudson Valley, and Double-A Somerset. During those outings, he posted a 0-6 record with an 8.18 ERA and 56 strikeouts.
The pitcher notably struggled at Double-A Somerset, where he recorded a 0-5 record with a 9.59 ERA over 11 appearances. These statistics underscore the performance issues that led to his designation.
