Triggered initially by teacher strikes over severe staff shortages and deteriorating infrastructure at a lycée in Créteil on Paris's southeastern outskirts, the student-led mobilization has rapidly expanded nationwide.

From the Paris suburbs to Marseille, as well as Toulouse and Lyon, high schoolers interviewed by Le Monde during the blockades described their study conditions, their concerns and their need to be heard.
