At around 10:40 a.m. on the 22nd, a Swiss woman in her 40s and her teenage son were swept out to sea while snorkeling near the mouth of the Ie River in Chosu, Kunigami Village. A woman who was at the scene called 119, reporting that they were being swept about 50 meters offshore, and the Kunigami District Fire Department rescued the two using a jet ski. They were unharmed.
