A man from Hook has been jailed after pleading guilty to an animal welfare offence.
Russell Noel Bennett admitted to causing unnecessary suffering to six horses that he kept in Ripley, between February and April 2024. The 48-year-old was handed an 18-week sentence, down from 18 months, and ordered to do 300 hours of unpaid work. Bennett was also banned from owning horses, ponies and donkeys for 20 years.
