A huge stash of illicit tobacco products was uncovered by the police’s Organized Crime division of Northern Greece on Friday, in a raid that led to the arrest of two men believed to be the ring leaders.
The Sub-Directorate for Combating Organized Crime of Northern Greece has succeeded in dismantling a criminal group that allegedly trafficked around 240,000 illegal packs of cigarettes since last March, causing damage to the Greek State estimated at 1 million euros in evaded duties and taxes.
