Attracted by 40°C and high heat, a fire mobilizes 200 firefighters and seven canadairs in the south of Aude.
A forest fire declared itself on Friday 4 September in Aude and has already travelled "a hundred hectares", the prefecture announces. A hundred people had to be evacuated "as a precaution". Some 200 firefighters are mobilized and two of them have been "slightly injured". - "A hundred hectares" : large departure of fire in Aude, "between 100 and 150" people evacuated (Environment).
The inhabitants of the village of Lavagnac, south of Carcassonne, had to leave their homes on a preventive basis on Friday after the flames ravaged a hundred hectares of vegetation. Some 200 firefighters, seven Canadair, two Dash and one helicopter were mobilized.
