What happened in June 1995 in Panevėžys shocked the whole of Lithuania. Even the then prosecutor of the Panevėžys District Prosecutor's Office, Stasys Lipnickas, who investigated the murder case, said that he had never seen such a brutal crime in his 40 years of service. And what about ordinary people who only learned from newspaper reports about a boy who was not even 13 years old who was brutally beaten and later set on fire in Panevėžys.
