Residents of several villages in the Ciechanow district of northern Poland are worried about a new visitor in their area, with authorities saying a puma is believed to be roaming the forest after receiving several reports of the big cat in the area.
A big cat, probably a puma, is being searched for in an area about 40 kilometers north of Warsaw. The animal was spotted by local hunters and tracks were found at the scene. Local authorities issued a warning on Monday to people not to go into the forest.

"A hunter using a thermal imaging device spotted an animal resembling a puma. The forest guard was dispatched to the scene and indeed spotted tracks consistent with those of a puma near a pool of water.
