5-Star Finnish Forward Pushes Arkansas Class to No. 1
The Finland native adds frontcourt size and touch to a class that already includes Jordan Smith Jr., JJ Andrews and Abdou Toure.
On Monday, 5-star Finnish 7-footer Miikka Muurinen committed to Arkansas, elevating John Calipari's 2026 recruiting class to No. 1 nationally.
Muurinen, a consensus 5-star recruit with a 93 rating, played at Sunrise Christian Academy and AZ Compass Prep before a professional season at Partizan Belgrade in Serbia.
Dubbed the "Finnish Freak," Muurinen shot 35% from three at FIBA EuroBasket; "They've been very consistent, and they've gotten to know me as a person," Muurinen told ESPN regarding his decision.
Joining Muurinen are 5-star recruits Jordan Smith Jr. and JJ Andrews, as the Razorbacks' class also includes 4-star small forward Abdou Toure.
"Miikka is very excited to play for Arkansas," said agent Teddy Archer of TAA Sports, noting the forward's focus on learning professional habits and winning championships.
