The 49ers Get Favorable Injury News on Evans, Williams and Greenlaw
Mike Evans is day-to-day after a rib injury, while Trent Williams avoided a serious setback and could return by Thursday, Kyle Shanahan said.
On Monday, San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan confirmed that receiver Mike Evans, left tackle Trent Williams, and linebacker Dre Greenlaw are not facing long-term absences following Sunday's 36-30 win over the Arizona Cardinals.
Evans is dealing with a rib injury that the team will manage this week, similar to how they handled his hip injury last week, and the 13th-year veteran will be monitored throughout the coming days.
Williams, who sustained a neck stinger, should be ready by Thursday, while Greenlaw requires management for a quad contusion, with Shanahan noting "all three of these guys are kind of in the same boat."
The 49ers will open the practice window for defensive end Mykel Williams on Wednesday and expect rookie defensive end Romello Height to return, though defensive end Nick Bosa and defensive tackle James Thompson Jr. will remain sidelined against Denver.
San Francisco seeks their fifth 4-0 start in the Super Bowl era, led by quarterback Brock Purdy's league-best 133.1 passer rating, despite the personnel challenges ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Broncos.
