32-year-old Indian-origin woman wins Washington DC Democratic primary

Aparna Raj, a first-time candidate and daughter of Indian immigrants, won the Democratic primary for Washington DC's Ward 1 council seat. The result puts the 32-year-old on track to become the ward's first new representative in more than three decades and the youngest member of the DC Council.
