3 players from Ohio State selected in first 7 picks of 2026 NFL Draft
Carnell Tate, Arvell Reese and Sonny Styles went in the top 7, the first time Ohio State has done that in the common draft era, ESPN said.
Three Ohio State players were selected in the first 10 picks of the 2026 NFL Draft on Thursday in Pittsburgh: wide receiver Carnell Tate , edge rusher Arvell Reese , and linebacker Sonny Styles .
According to ESPN, this marked the first time since 1967 that Ohio State had three players selected in the top seven of a common-era draft, surpassing the program's previous record of 14 selections last year.
Former Alabama coach Nick Saban praised Tate as one of the "smoothest" receivers in the group, highlighting his contested catch ability and strong hands during draft analysis.
Safety Caleb Downs was selected by the Dallas Cowboys just outside the top 10, while defensive tackle Kayden McDonald remains available for subsequent rounds after not being selected on Thursday.
Rounds 2 and 3 resume on Friday, April 24, at 6 p.m. CT, as teams continue evaluating the remaining Ohio State talent pool and other prospects for potential selections.
