- On Friday, External Affairs Official Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal reported that 275 Indian nationals remain missing in Nepal, while 166 have been rescued following devastating flash floods along the Nepal-Tibet border.
- Flash floods triggered by an ice-rock avalanche on August 26 devastated towns and villages across northern and central Nepal, damaging 35 motorable bridges and 45 suspension bridges in the region.
- The death toll has risen to 1,295, with 13,093 people rescued overall; India has supplied around 95 tonnes of relief material and 54 expert personnel supporting rescue and forensic operations in Nepal.
- Jaiswal confirmed India remains in close touch with the Nepali government; meanwhile, 1,907 Indian nationals have safely crossed into Nepal from China, with no Indian travelers stranded in the Tibetan Autonomous Region.
- Addressing climate change concerns, Jaiswal emphasized that developed nations historically responsible for emissions must lead in reducing them and support developing countries through technology transfer to prevent future disasters.
