Morocco, Algeria Advance to WAFCON Quarters

Hosts Morocco topped Group A with seven points after holding Senegal to a 0-0 draw on Monday. Goalkeeper Adji Ndiaye saved a twice-taken penalty from Yasmin Mrabet to preserve the result.
Captain Marine Dafeur opened the scoring in the 14th minute with a long-range free-kick, before Lynda Bendris doubled the lead nine minutes later. Algeria's clinical first-half display proved decisive.
The result confirmed Algeria's progression to the last eight, while Kenya exited the tournament without a point. Senegal finished third with four points, completing the Group A eliminations.
Morocco will face the Group B runners-up in the quarter-finals, while Algeria meets the Group B winners. Semi-finalists qualify for the 2027 World Cup in Brazil, raising stakes for the knockout stage.
