The European Union should embark on a "deep clean" and dedicate a year to simplifying and implementing existing rules rather than adopting new regulations. Thirteen member states, including the Czech Republic, are calling for this in an informal document initiated by Austria, Euronews reported on Tuesday.
13 of the 27 EU states have demanded that the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Lien, not adopt any new laws and regulations during the year, but only simplify the regulations already in force.
