1 taken into custody after theft caught on camera in Kelowna
RCMP say the stolen property from two residences was recovered and returned after the caller’s CCTV footage helped identify the suspect.
On Thursday, Oct. 1, Kelowna RCMP arrested one individual after a theft was caught on camera in the 400-block of Woods Road. Officers took the suspect into custody upon arrival around 7 a.m.
A witness captured the alleged theft on CCTV and reported to police that the suspect remained in the nearby area, enabling officers to quickly locate and apprehend the individual.
Property stolen from two area residences was recovered and returned to the owners, according to Kelowna RCMP Cpl., who confirmed the recovery during the arrest.
The individual remains in custody as the investigation continues in the Kelowna area. Authorities are pursuing charges related to the alleged thefts from multiple residences.
