- Investigators reported the semi-truck traveled in the eastbound lanes before breaching the concrete center divider and entering the westbound lanes, striking at least two other vehicles.
- Of the 32 total injured, two victims suffered critical injuries, eight were transported for treatment with six being minors, and 22 patients with minor injuries declined medical transport.
- Authorities issued a SigAlert, closing all westbound lanes between Irwindale Avenue and the San Gabriel River Freeway. Target confirmed the truck was a third-party trailer, not driven by a Target employee.
- The California Highway Patrol reopened all lanes by 3:40 p.m. as officials continue investigating the crash cause, which occurred shortly before 9 a.m. Saturday.
